Re: [efax-users] faxmodem not communicating

Here's the fax log after I changed the fax script as follows:

# Uncomment one of the following lines to force xon/xoff flow
# control only if you have one of the types of modems listed.

# FCINIT='-j\Q4' # AT&T (Dataport, Paradyne)
# FCINIT='-j\Q1' # Motorola (Power Modem, 3400 Pro,...)
# FCINIT='-j*F1' # QuickComm (Spirit II)
# FCINIT='-j&H2' # USR (Courier, Sportster)
# FCINIT='-or' # Multi-Tech (for bit reversal)
FCINIT='-j+FBO=0'

The log was the same with FBO=1. In addition, it began trying to answer
the fax line repeatedly, again, so I commented the FCINIT variable out.

In answer to your concerns, there are no other programs attempting to
use the modem. I thought about getting an old serial modem, but this
new computer has no actual serial port (no DB15 connector). However, on
Amazon, I found a used PCI card US Robotics model 5610B for $4.85. The
other used cards were about 10x the price--I suspect somebody misplaced
a decimal point. If that shows up in /dev as a serial port, I may have
something to work with.

Meanwhile, any other ideas about getting this one going are appreciated.
I'm willing to keep trying stuff as long as you are.
